How have Apple's products influenced the way we work and socialize?

Starting in the morning, I wake or snooze the clock app on my iPhone. That’s the beginning of an ongoing relationship that I have with Apple. What does my schedule, the weather, or the tops stories look like today? I get notified if there are any traffic dekays to expect. It almost seems like I can’t escape the influence my iPhone has over my decisions.

Since I work as a software engineer, I also tout along a my MacBook Pro in case I get stuck in a meeting and need to be productive away from my desk. I choose a MacBook because Apple synchronizes between all of my devices. Besides all of my devices, I also subscribe to Apple’s family sharing service. One of the benefits of the sharing service is that we share everything from purchases to GPS location.

Collaboration is even easier between colleagues since we can always reach each other no mater what the distance. The same goes for family and friends since we can connect through various social networks. All of these influences have their pluses and minuses, but it's this last that has influenced me the most.

The biggest influence has been the ability to connect with my daughter attending college in another state. It wasn't long ago that long distant calling was the best we could enjoy. The ability to have FaceTime or texting at our fingertips allows me to be there when she needs me or vice versa. I suppose that's why I got her an iPhone too.
